The amendment has been initiated by the Township of Beckwith and is being processed as file number OPA No. 34.
PURPOSE of the proposed amendment is to amend the Official Plan as a result of findings from the Growth Focused Official Plan Review project, which is focused on ensuring that Beckwith Township has adequate long-term housing supply and that policies around settlement areas, servicing, and development are aligned with the anticipated growth.

EXPLANATORY NOTE: These amendments have been initiated by the Township of Beckwith as identified through the Growth Focused Official Plan Review with land-use planning consultants, J.L. Richards & Associates Limited. With the exception of the Ashton Community Development Area boundary expansion, the amendments are not specific to any one piece of property. The County of Lanark is the approval authority for Official Plan Amendments in the Township of Beckwith.
A KEY MAP for the proposed Ashton boundary expansion is provided as Figure 1.
