PUBLIC SKATING CODE OF ETHICS

  1. SKATE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
  2. Patrons must wear skates when on ICE
  3. In the event of an injury, notify an ice supervisor or rink staff IMMEDIATELY
  4. Skating in a manner that endangers or interferes with other skaters’ safety is prohibited
  5. Participants must obey Ice Supervisors at all times, and report any rule violation
  6. Skaters are not to carry children
  7. Any objects which might interfere with the safety of other skaters is not permitted (e.g. Hockey sticks, pucks, skate supports, pylons, balls, etc.)
  8. The use of hand held electronic devices while skating is strictly prohibited
  9. Throwing snowballs or any object is prohibited
  10. No Horseplay or games
  11. No congregating on the ice
  12. Skaters must skate in one direction, which will be dictated by ice supervisors
  13. No eating or drinking on the ice surface
  14. Please keep facility clean, and dispose of garbage properly
  15. Please leave ice promptly when horn sounds for ice resurfacing
  16. Failure to comply with any of the above rules may result in, but is not limited to, ejection from the facility with NO REFUNDS.

PENALTIES:
1st Offence: Removed from the ice for 15 minutes.
2nd Offence: Removed from the ice for the remaining skating time.
3rd Offence: Parents contacted and suspended from skating for 30 days.
4th Offence: Individual will have to appear before the recreation committee.
