Please check our Facebook page for the current trail conditions.

The Beckwith Skating Trail is 1 km loop at Beckwith Park, 1319 9th Line Beckwith (located behind the Beckwith Recreation Complex)

There are benches and a shed for you to sit and put on your skates.

The Skating Trail is conducive to outdoor conditions which vary. Please Skate to Trail Conditions.

The Skating Trail is operating on a colour code chart for maintenance. The colours will change throughout the season so please watch the Skating Trail Sign at the entrance for the current colour.

Green = Good Condition
Yellow = Proceed with Caution
Red = Trail Closed

Special thanks to the Public Works Superintendent Glenn Rintoul and all the staff that have been working hard to prepare the trail.

Grab your skates and helmet, we will see you on the trail.

Yes! Strollers, wagons, sleds, and wheelchairs are all welcome on the trail.

No, not at this time. We’ve had good feedback from those who choose to skate it at night with headlamps, though.

This is not recommended. See our Trail Map for information on the other trails in Beckwith that are great for walking year round.

DOGS ON LEASH

A reminder that dogs must be on-leash and under control on all Beckwith Trails.  While your dog may be friendly, there are a number of reasons dogs must stay on-leash while on our trails:

  • Other trail users – humans both large and small – might be scared of dogs.
  • Another trail user may be allergic to dogs – a dog’s saliva from a friendly lick might cause them to break out into hives.
  • Whether small, big, young or old, dogs may have different responses if an off-leash dog approaches them, and we have to consider what it means for the owner of the on-leash dog to manage that interaction.
  • To protect the wildlife on our trails.
  • Township By-Law 2024-11 requires all dogs to be leashed in public areas.

These are community spaces for everyone to enjoy.  Let’s all do our part to make sure we can all have a positive experience on our trails.
