The Beckwith Township Youth Committee is a group of young children and teens with a common goal of bettering the Community by raising money to be distributed to others and put on Community events with an emphasis on FUN. By doing this, the children gain leadership, parliamentary procedure skills and self-confidence.
The Youth Committee holds monthly dances, a March Melt Down Winter Carnival, helps out with the Halloween Party, the Beckwith Heritage Days, buys gifts for the Angel tree children, Tree Planting and Courses for Youth such as Babysitters Course, Home Alone Course, Cooking Course along with many more activities for the children in the community.
Any interested children and youth within the Township of Beckwith are welcome to join the Committee. The Committee is currently made up of energetic youths committed to improving their community.

Looking for a placement for your 40 hours of Volunteer work? There are many events and activities you could help out with throughout the community. Call Beckwith Recreation Department at the Beckwith Township Office at 613-257-1539 or email events@twp.beckwith.on.ca.
PAST SPONSORSHIPS
- Each year, the BYC sponsors children to attend the Beckwith Day/Sports Camp
- Every year the Committee buys a Christmas present for 4 names on the O.P.P. Angel Tree
- Helped the Girl Guides raise money for their trip to the Yukon by allowing them to run the canteen at the March Melt Down
- Helped the scouts raise $1000.00 by allowing them to supervise two of the Beckwith Youth Dances in exchange for the profit
- Help raise money for the Carleton Place High School Football Team
- Raised money to help off-set the cost of the new playground structure at Beckwith park
- Raised money for the Haiti Fund
- Purchased toys for Toy Mountain with funds raised at a Beckwith Youth Dance (2015)
- Own the Podium 2010 – Municipal Challenge
- Sponsored a youth from the community to participate in the “Tall Ship Millennium Challenge”
- Sponsored Local Sports Teams to attend the Provincial Championships
- Sponsored the Beckwith Cheerleaders to attend the Provincial Championships
Sponsored the Carleton Place High School Legacy Project (2013) - Sponsored a Youth from the Community to participate in the Miss Teen Canada Competition (2013)
- Sponsored the Mississippi Thunder Kings Major Bantam to attend the Silver Sticks Tournament (2014)
- Sponsored free public swim at the Carleton Place Pool
- Sponsored players for the Beckwith Irish Minor Football League
