2025 Due Dates:

Interim Billing Due March 24th, 2025

1st Installment of the Final Tax Bill Due Monday July 28th, 2025

2nd Installment of the Final Tax Bill Due Monday  September 22nd, 2025 (reminder that this bill comes on the June Mailout)

Property tax billing occurs twice per year. Interim billing is sent out in February with installment payment due at the end of March. Final billing is sent out at the end of June with the first installment payments due at the end of July and and the second installment due date the end of September.

For permanent and seasonal dwellings, add $270.00 for waste management services including garbage and recycling pick-up, hazardous waste depot, large item pick-up, etc.  The Waste Management charge is included in the Final Tax Billing as a Special Charge.

Tax accounts in arrears any part of two years are now subject to Tax Registration as a means of collection. Please contact the tax department to make payment arrangements.


TAX CALCULATION

Taxes are calculated using the following formula:

Assessment x Tax Rate = Taxes

By-law 2024-15 being a By-law to Adopt the Estimates for the Sums Required During the Year 2024 for General Purposes of the Corporation of the Township of Beckwith

By-law 2024-22 being a By-law to Provide for the Adoption of Tax Rates for 2024, and to Provide for Penalty and Interest in Default of Payment Thereof, and to Establish Due Dates


SUPPLEMENTARY TAXES
A Supplementary tax bill may be issued where a property is not completely assessed at the time of preparation of assessment rolls or where a new building has reached completion or is occupied, or a property becomes taxable. It is in addition to the regular tax bill.

CHANGING YOUR SCHOOL BOARD SUPPORT ONLINE

All properties in Ontario are required to support a school system. The default school board setting for every property in Ontario is the English public-school board. Residents can choose which school board they would like the municipal education portion of their property taxes to be sent to.

CHANGE OF ADDRESS

Beckwith Township forwards all mail to the last known address provided by the owner.

It is the responsibility of the property owner to provide the Township with any change to their mailing address.  Owners can call in their change of address, provide written confirmation either by fax, mail, email or in person.  The Township will not be held responsible for mail not delivered in a timely manner due to changes in addresses not provided by the property owner.
